iphone application development
well among many other things that have been keeping me busy, iphone app development is one of them. also holidays, ajax and wordpress customization. yes, my plate has been full but this is much better than the alternative.
so iphone development. i was contracted early december to work on integrating some client / server code into an iphone application. i’ll admit that at first i wasn’t enthusiastic about having to learn something new but as most would testify, we’re always better for the challenge. and now i have a reasonable grasp on how to deveop for iphones. i will say that objective-c has some interesting aspects to it that won’t be obvious from scanning the code but once i started getting used to it i’ve found it rather enjoyable.
i will say that i tried my best to avoid using iphones for as long as i could. i knew that their power would be dangerous to me so i maintained a safe distance…that is until i was hired to develop for one. now i eagerly look forward to having my own hand-held information-resource. nothing really compares to it right now. it’s too bad that around here a 3-year rogers contract is apparently the only option.
besides the iphone work i’ve gotten a long-term contract that will require me to heavily modify wordpress. i’m really enjoying this project as i am set to learn every little detail about customizing wordpress that there is to know. and since i’m a fan of it already it is a project that i’m happy to work on. all in all everything right now is great. i’m busy and i’m enjoying the work.
